The local life is colonies of insects with psy attacks that only trained minds can fight. Very well trained minds can control the local wild life.
There is 15 children, 30 women, 15 senior citizens including 1 powerful Jedi (that is the captain’s teacher), Cody’s clone troupers of 10. The Jedi is clearing the land of local hostile wild life. They are protection of the ship, building and town. They are not attacking outside the town. The former ship provides food and building material. It also supplies basic food and filters water.
