History of RavensPlayLand
Way back when the Internet was in it’s infancy (We are talking HTML 1.0), Bob created a site for Domma. It was called RavensPlayGround. Domma quickly learned the basics of HTML and was soon uploading .HTML files like a mad woman. She mastered FTP and photo uploads soon followed. As the HTML language got better, so did Domma’s coding skills. She was prolific and this was before sites like Facebook and Twitter were EVER CREATED. All was good for many years, until…
Malware – Damn Hackers!
On a sunny June morning in 2003, Bob awoke to discover ever page on his web hosting service (All his pages and Raven’s stuff too) had been infected with a virus. A particularly nasty virus. All the sites were brought down and the cleaning commenced. But to no avail. Domma’s site never fully recovered and much of the content was lost. Bob decided to migrate most of his stuff to another Web Hosting service and left a few Domains on the corrupt Web Host. Due to money constraints, RavensPlayGround was left on the “bad” site. Bob buys a House
As a new home owner, money was very tight. He could no longer afford the yearly DNS fees and cancelled 7 Domain Names, including RavensPlayGround which was quickly purchased by some dude in Arizona. Using sub-domain magic, Domma was able to keep the idea of her original Website alive. It may not have the original name but at least the general “core” of her content was still on-line. Santa Bob Arrives
On a cold gray day in January 2019, Bob (aka Santa Bob) delivered a fresh new domain name. RavensPlayLand. Bob insisted the new site be created using WordPress, so Domma is once again learning new skills. If history repeats itself, Domma will quickly master the ins-and-outs of WordPress and soon the site will be back to it’s original luster.
