Seattle Hunt Log 5
Icehawk lounged in a chair, his body draped over the arms, his ass in the seat. He played with an ice crystal snowflake.
“I see Pam finally let you out.” Raven smiled.
Icehawk grinned, spinning the snowflake on a fingertip. “She needed the sleep.”
“Oh?” Raven inquired, “I thought Star, her and Linda was going shopping.”
“Possible…I suppose…she doesn’t sleep long it seems.” Icehawk stretched, “Mostly catnaps.”
“Hummm, Keeping her busy?”
“I don’t think she’s used to all the…exercise.”
“Oh!” Raven smiled. “You have anything new on Proguard?”
Icehawk created a ball of intense cold…about the size of a golf ball. He looked up “Did you tell them Bobbie seems to be in Detroit? I’ve got feelers out for him.”
“Detroit as in Michigan?” asked Raven.
“Yes.” Icehawk answered.
“As in where Pam… NEVER MIND.” Raven turned and headed to the bathroom.
Icehawk sat up, “Do what? RAVEN!” Icehawk leaped to his feet, skating after her, “As in where Pam what?!” He pounded on the door, “RAVEN!”
Raven spoke through the door, “Out in a minute.”
Icehawk spoke in a very tight voice “I’ll be outside…breaking something.” He turned, skating out of the house, hitting the door at full speed, splintering it to shards. “Burt…please get out of the car.” Icehawk held the door open for the driver. “Please stand back….” He extruded a blade of ice from his right hand and slashes the limo in half. Methodically he began carving the car into tiny parts.
Raven walked outside.
Icehawk grumbled, “The limo is junk.”
Simon walked by and saying, “Ice, was that a new super villain?”
Icehawk glared at Simon. “Wanna spar?” He let the blade melt.
Simon walked to the house, “Boy these new bad guys have no respect for property. I’ll see if Cat’s in.”
Icehawk gave an icey stare, “Where is she, Raven?”
“Pam is shopping.”
“In Detroit?”
“No,” Raven sighed, “but her family is. Doesn’t she have……siblings I think sisters.”
“Thanks for the in opportune call of Nature… you could have saved me a limo….” he said snidely, “Can you protect her? All of you?”
Cat wandered out and says, “I heard you want to play Ice.
Raven looked at Icehawk, “Pam is one of mine. I will always be there for her.”
“Good… I am going to Detroit.” Icehawk spoke coldly, “And kill a man…”
Saber piped in from the doorway, “Lets all go.”
“How?” Icehawk stated, “You got a job here… We going to leave Seattle wide open for a couple of days?”
“Ice!” Raven pleaded, “Please be rational.”
“What?! Hold on.” Icehawk eyed the elf, “Who was the one that wanted to torture somebody last night? Just how rational were you, Raven?”
Saber added, “But no killing.”
Cat pouted, “Be Rational? but I wanted to be like my hero Icehawk.”
Raven held back her grin, “Down putty tat”
“So don’t preach to me about “rational” this guy needs dead…” Icehawk chilled voice dropped deeper, “and if Pam’s family suffers…I am going to be the one on the safe end of the blade…”
“You don’t even know if he is really there,” Raven pointed out.
“Oh, yea. That guy. The whole company does. If they fired him that would mean that they didn’t like what he did.” Cat purred.
“I don’t want the company…” Icehawk blue eyes where frozen, “I want this one guy….”
“Nobody needs to be dead.” Saber added
Icehawk narrowed his eyes whispering softly “you don’t think so?”
Raven shook her head, “Sorry I mentioned it. He might not even know about her family.”
“I am not going to take that chance…” Icehawk hit himself in the head.. “I didn’t even connect the two…Pam’s family, Detroit and Bobbie.”
“Ice take the team.” Raven gave in, “Me and My love will hold down the fort here.”
Cat meowed, “I want to take in all of them. They all are low life I’m just glad someone put them all in one place for us.”
Icehawk glared, “Why…think I need someone to watch over me?”
“We are family now. We take care of each other.” Raven looked over her shoulder, “Right guys!”
Cat mentioned, ” Every time I get near Belle I need someone to help me out.”
“We haven’t heard from her. You still think she is pro guard?” Raven noted.
Icehawk pulled out the phone and dials. “Sam.. get the plane ready for Detroit. We’re leaving in 30.”
“Take the team.” Raven insisted.
Icehawk closed the phone then reopened it again. “Janet… get a car to the Hunt House to pick up Burt and call a junkyard to pick up the limo.”
“I don’t know,” purred the cat, “Every time I deal with them I deal with her. I think they work to close together to matter weather or not she is or not.”
Raven nodded at Cat.
Icehawk closed the phone and turned to Burt, “Sorry about the car…get a new one, you know what I like.” HE put a hand on the driver’s shoulder “I didn’t mean to scare the hell out of you. Raven…”
“Yes ice.”
“Call Thorne and have him check with the Feebs, have someone check out the Portis place..”
Raven pulled out her cell.
“I want to know if they are safe. I have the address.” Icehawk pulled out a piece of paper and handed it to Raven.
Cat looked at the metal chunks of car, “If he acts like that again I’ll just put him in a straight jacket and have you the executive of his estate?”
Raven talked in the Phone” Hello Peter. Need the Portis family checked on, they live in Detroit, MI” Raven covered the phone. “Ice. Address.”
Cat asked, “Should we call the Detroit team and let them know we’re coming?”
Hawkins flew into the house wearing a camera rig, “Did I miss much?”
Raven repeated address as Ice spoke, “Hang on call this number.” She handed the phone to ice, “Ice tell him your cell number.”
Icehawk takes the phone “373-2274”
Raven smiled, “Ice.” she gave him a hug, “May the flame be with you little brother. Ice think you will need the Detroit Team??”
“Who’s in that team?”
Raven looked at the bird, “You are going to be flying to Detroit with Ice” than turned back to Ice, “Vixxxyen, Trooper, Iron Cross, Gambler, ummm not sure of all of them and if Cat is right. Watch out for Belle.”
Cat nodded, “I know Ice have been her puppet once or twice.”
“SeaTac, private arrivals, Gulf Stream 0307, ” Icehawk stated, “I’ll see you all there…we can plot for the next four hours as we fly.”
“Ice.”
“Yes, Raven?”
Raven ruffled his hair. “Be careful. If not for any one, for the one you do this for.”
Cat meowed, “To keep Ice from destroying to many cars.”
Icehawk looked at the bird, “We’ll brief you on the plane, Hawk…”
Hawkins eyed the metal heap and commented, “For some reason I don’t think I would be allowed on a plane except as cargo and what happen to the car?”
Raven phone rung. “Hello Peter, oh Linda. Um..”
Cat asked, “Ice?”
Icehawk grinned, “Lousy workmanship…Private plane, Hawk.., “Icehawk smirked, “Just don’t crap on the furniture… Or the rug…”
Raven walked back into the house whispering.
Icehawk rubbed his forehead, “Cat, she’s talking to Linda…and whispering…. Why does that scare me?”
Hawkins commented, “Because your paranoid?”
Raven ran from the house and jumped to the air as ice’s cell phone rings.”
Icehawk glared at the bird, pulling open the phone, “Hawkins!”
Linda cheerful voice filled the line, “Hi Boss man.”
“Hi, Linda. What’s up?”
“Well. Um. Pam and Star.”
Icehawk sighed, “Don’t make me pull it out of you…. Pam and Star..”
“They are taking a trip and I thought Raven might like to know.” She rambled out.
“To Detroit?”
Linda giggled, “No Mexico.”
“Mexico!?” Icehawk demanded, “What the hell is going on?!”
“Well, that was the ending joke.”
Icehawk asked, “What?!”
The teenager rambled more, “Was Mexico bound and Raven was really upset.”
“Linda!…what the hell are you talking about?!” Ice grew impatient.
“and I still got to tell William. Duh!” Linda took a breath, “We all where suppose to go get clothes for Star.”
Icehawk said “Yes” through clinched teeth.
“and Star wanted to see the world and Pam said she knew a a place to go and I got busy with the kid.”
“Yes.”
“and when I got back they left a note.”
Icehawk asked holding his temper, “and it said?”
“We should be back before we are missed, heading south towards Mexico. It went with the stuff we had been talking.”
Icehawk held his forehead, “We are in Seattle…I think we’d miss them in a few hours….”
“Like a joke.”
“I don’t get the joke…”
“Raven just made a big deal out of it.” Linda gave a dramatic sigh, “And said I should tell you. Okay now you know they split in one of Johns cars. They are properly just shopping. No biggie.”
Icehawk banged his head against the wall.
“Don’t know why Raven told me to be gentle with you,” Linda took a short breath as she bulleted her words again, “Not like Pam is Star. Raven is really up set with Star on the loose. I’ll keep you informed boss man. Gee that wasn’t that hard. Talk at you later.”
Icehawk spoke quick, “Linda…call me as soon as you hear from Pam…or Star…or (radios as well) Or your hear from our dear Mother, Raven, the one that says we are a family and then doesn’t bother to tell anyone what the hell is going on…”
Raven radioed “But I made sure you did find out. She must have you on quick dial.” Icehawk radioed, “Doesn’t anyone trust anyone around here?”
Hawkins mumbled, “I trust blue. Well almost but then I knew him longer then anyone else here.”
Raven radioed, “With life and limb I trust each of you.”
Icehawk radioed, “and ten minutes of pulling the story out of her and trying to decipher it all. Then why didn’t YOU tell me…”
Raven radioed, “You have to learn Lindneese.”
Icehawk radioed, “But you didn’t trust me with the info…and I am a hell of a lot faster getting from one place to another then you…remember?”
Raven radioed, “I thought that your PA should call you, not me with such information on your woman.”
Icehawk radioed, “Thank you SOOOO much…”
Raven radioed “She has to learn to talk to you first.”
Icehawk turned to everyone else. “My plane is ready at SeaTac.. you are welcome to take it to Detroit…I am not going anywhere until I hear from Pam.
Raven radioed, “Get to your plane. I will hold things down her.”
Icehawk plopped down on the chair and created a snowflake, spinning it on a fingertip. Icehawk radioed “Do you think for a minute, I am leaving? Where are you, Raven?”
Raven radioed, “Get to your plane. I will hold things down her.”
Icehawk radioed back, “I heard you the first time.”
Raven radioed, “Yes, You don’t trust me?”
Icehawk radioed “Why should I? You don’t trust me….”
Raven radioed “Because you are one of mine, as is Pam and she is with Star and I have to get them back. Star is to new to be out, even if with Pam.”
Icehawk popped out of the chair.
Raven radioed, “I trust you or you would never of laid eyes on Pam.”
Icehawk hits the shards of the door and raced out into the street.
Hawkins asked, “Do we follow him?”
Raven radioed, “I am following the visions from Star’s mind. You can not follow it.”
Icehawk pulled the phone out as he runs and dialed, “Hawkins…get a carpenter to the house to repair the front door…”
Raven radioed, “They travel alone the ocean beach. The link I have with Star works two ways.”
Icehawk radioed, “There are 1000 miles of shore line in the Puget Sound….”
Raven radioed “They are safe.”
Back at the house Cat asked, “Are we going or not? We were only going to back up Ice. I guess I’m going to a strip club if not. I wonder if Blue would want to go?”
“Can you describe Detroit to me?” asked Hawkins, “I just want know to see wither or not it is worth trying to fly there.”
Icehawk plants, throwing a spray of ice over a couple of people. He radioed, “If you have two way with Star…and they are safe… Why didn’t you just say that?!”
Raven radioed, “Because I…”
Cat shrugged, “I heard that Detroit is Grim. Do you want to see some maps?”
Icehawk radioed, “Yes? You what?”
Raven radioed, “Because I don’t trust Star fully.”
Icehawk radioed, “That’s just fraggin’ wonderful……”
Raven radioed, “Ice, I am not sure which part of the Star came here. It is a long story. If it the part that is gentile than everything is fine.”
Icehawk radioed, “If not, Pam’s dead… I am going back to Storm watch when this is over…”
