Lisa

By Jack Carter

I once knew a girl name Lisa, who was only nine.
To look at her you’d think she was just fine.
They fond out she had leukemia really bad.
Every one that knew her was very sad.

She was so cute, funny, and sweet.
To this day when I think of her my heart skips a beat.
When she was around me, she would not leave me alone.
She would even call me on the phone just to say hello.

They tried all kinds of treatment, but to no avail.
The ship called her life still set sail.
She passed away before she had reached her prime,
And she died way before her time.

I still miss her after all these years.
I even catch myself thinking of her, and shedding a tear.
I hope someday, they will find a cure for this disease that killed my little friend.
So the pain of all the people who have leukemia will finally come to an end.
