By Jack Carter
Once again I’m free, white and over twenty one
Again my life will always be fun
It was time to stretch my wings
I can once again sing the song that a free bird sings
I really don’t need those invisible strings
Or all the hassles just one lover brings
I guess I was born to be wild and crazy
If I have just one lover it makes me lazy
I get used to doing the same thing all the time
It makes me feel like an old man instead of a man in his prime
I’m glad it didn’t get carried away
Or an old man I might have been to stay
I need my spice to feel alive
To stay young forever I will strive
Cause feeling old isn’t the way to go
I’ve known enough old people and they let me know
They say think young and you’ll never grow old
and remember that youth can’t be bought or sold
So I live life to the limit of a mortal man
I get as much out of life as I possible can
I really think thing will be better this way
Maybe so much better that you’ll want to stay
and as your needs change as time goes by
I might change too, or at least I might try
Remember us free birds might fly together
You must know by now we are birds of a feather.
