William and Star
Star watched Raven leave with the others. William watched Raven too…his eyes filled with pain.
Star looked at William, “I agree.” Star brushed her hand on his arm as she moved away to the pond.
William frowned, “Agree with what? Agree.” He followed behind her.
“William?”
“Yeah?”
“He has caused her to much pain. Do you know how to swim?” Star lay on her belly and touched the water with a finger.
” Yeah … I swim … Who are you anyway?” William stared at her curves; “You look like Raven.”
“Will you please swim, I wish to watch.” She pulled to her knees; “She gave us form. We needed a form to complete the circle. She gave us her flame and song and we gave her peace. Please swim for me.” Star poked the water again, leaning over letting the tips of her hair float on the surface.
William shrugged, stepping to the edge of the water, leaped into dive cutting the water with his body. His head popped up, water streaming from his long hair.
Star watched, “William.”
William wiped his face with his hand, “Yeah?”
“If I hit the ground, when I left the beam would I have died?”
“I don’t know … are you human?” William trended water, “I mean … really human?”
“I am as Raven.”
William climbed out of the water and sat beside her. “Let me see your hand.” He held out a hand.
Star held it out, her flame eyes dance as they watch him.
William took her hand, “Tell me what you feel …”
Star nodded, ” When?”
“Now.”
“Coolness that is warming, the warmth of your hand,” Star thought as she spoke, “The coolness of the water.”
William pinched her wrist, “Now?”
Star’s brows knitted, “That was displeasing.”
William confirmed, “Pain.”
“No?” Star tilted her head and looked at him, “May I touch you.”
William shrugged, “Yeah.”
Star opened her mind; “I can show you what pain is.”
“What?!”
Star closed her eyes, the burning pain moved in to his shoulder, immense searing pain of agony shot in his body. She pulled back the feeling quickly. William inhaled sharply.
“That is pain.” Star looked at him with a blank stare.
“Damn!” William moved away from her, “Why the hell did you do that?”
“Did I do something wrong?” she asked.
William rubbed his shoulder, “Hell yeah!”
“You said the prick on my wrist is pain. That was not pain.”
William scowled, “Pain has degrees!”
“Oh” Star frowned, “I only gave you a touch of pain we took from her. I won’t do it again.”
“Have you tried the pain on yourself?” he asked still trying to hold his temper.
“Yes.”
“And?” William asked, “Did you like it?”
“I needed to in order to take it away from her.” Star spoke softly looking in his eyes; “It is part of me. I still try and hold it from her dreams.”
“Do you bleed?”
“I don’t know. Make me bleed.” She requested.
William thought a second, climbing to his feet, favoring the shoulder.
“William.”
“Yeah?”
“I am sorry for letting you feel what I thought pain was.” Star stood up; “It will not last long. Nothing is really damaged.”
William rubbed the shoulder “Don’t worry about it …”
Star looked to the pool, “Why does Raven fear the water?”
William surmised, “The cold … it robs her of heat … and on her world the water is deadly hot …”
Star asked, “Can you take me to her world?” William shook his head, “No … only she can.”
“When will you make me bleed?”
“Just a sec …” William disappeared into a storeroom and returned a minute later with a first aid kit, left over from Raven’s trading. He carried the box over to her and sat on the grass. Star watched, sitting next to him. William opened the box and took out a scalpel,a small bottle and a Band-Aid.
He opened the scalpel, “Give me your finger” Star held out her hand. He took a hold on her forefinger, “There will be a small pain.” William jabbed her fingertip with the scalpel, she did not flinch. Her blood dripped, a metallic blue. It stopped quickly. William looked at the droplet very surprised.
“Is something wrong?” she asked looking at his wide-eyed expression.
William mumbled, “Blue blood?”
Star ran her hand through her silver hair, droplets of blue streaked it. “Is that wrong?”
“Okay …” William opened a new scalpel. Holding out a finger, he jabbed the blade in, the flow of bright red dripped from him.
Star eyed watched the blood; “May I feel the fluid?”
“If you can bleed, I guess you can die …” William held his hand up to her, “You gonna hurt me again?”
Star touched the finger, “No I only wish to feel … not touch” as her fingers rubbed his finger, a tingled grew from it.
William pulled his hand back, “Hey! What was that?” He looked at his finger, the skin closed as if never damaged, “You healed it.”
Star nodded, “I fixed you.”
“Yeah …” he looked amazed.
Star puts her finger to her mouth as it dripped a little red. Her lips tasting it.
William asked, “Red?”
“I took your mark.” The red blood slowly turned blue, the gash closing and disappearing on her finger.
William shook his head; “You ain’t human then …”
“I am Star. I am the form of the future. I will complete the circle. We once held form.”
William pointed at the pond, “You swim?”
“Will you teach me?” Star looked to the clear limpid pool; “I have never been in water in my form.”
“Sure. I’ll show you …” William closed the box then climbed to his feet.
“Why did you not take her when she offered herself to you?” William stopped and turned around, “A mercy fuck?”
“You are her first mate and she can not keep her word. She hurts seeing you in pain.” So soft the tones of indifference.
William shook his head, “She didn’t want me … she wanted him …”
“We took some of that pain too.”
“I am not going to play her stud while she dreams about him.” The hurt sounded in his voice.
“Yes you are right. She can never change her burning, Even when he passes.” Star stood before the edge of the water.
“Passes? He dying?” William sounded hopeful.
Star smiled, “I am sorry, not in the way you think.”
William sighed, “No such luck, huh?”
“They will live way pass our time.”
William asked, “What did you mean then?”
“When I was many, we could see things.” Her eyes stared down into the depth of the pool.
“Yeah?” Like?”
“But, no more.” She whispered
William asked, “What did you mean about him passing?”
“One, with so many wishing them harm, can not possibly keep their flame alive.” She said off handedly. “But he doesn’t have a flame like Raven but the Children do, except Josho.”
William snorted, “Don’t know about the Flame … Ready to try it?”
Star stepped of into the pool sinking like a rock.
William waded in with a grin. Star didn’t surface as he waited. “Star?” He called out; “Hey … ya gotta come up for air!” William slipped underwater, looking for her. His eyes caught sight ofthe air bubbles leaving her, her body at the bottom of the pool. Quickly he kicked over grabbing her, pulling her quickly to the surface.
Star choked as they hit the air. William wrapped an arm around her chest and pulled her toward shore, as she gasped and water spurted out of her lips. He picked her up, her frame light in his arm, carrying her out of the water, laying her in the grass. Star choked and gasped for air more water came from her mouth.
William rolled her on her side; “You have to hold your breath. Come on … cough it up …”
Star coughed up more water.
“Damn … I should have known” William eyes reflected worry, “I’m sorry, Star … that was pretty dumb … are you okay?”
Star looked at him, “What was dumb? Why sorry? I think I am.”
“I should have known you didn’t know to hold your breath.” William belittled himself, “I was dumb for not remembering … and I am sorry you had to suffer from it …”
“You are not dumb”
“Shit,” William snorted, “I gotta be pretty dumb.”
“What is wrong now?” Star felt something different from him. How she wished she understood.
“Look at my life …” he pitied himself.
“You survived the harshness of the homeless, you saved a female from herself. You rebuilt yourself to be better and you grew in emotions that I would die to have.” Star looked into his eyes; “I would trade you lives. You have all that is needed to complete the circle and I am but a form that watches.”
“And I do nothing but love a girl I can’t have and baby sit.” William voice became hard, “Real rewarding life.”
“Still better than mine.” Star spoke in the softness, “Till they brought me here. All I could do was watch and the rest created me a place to be and take her pain to myself. Only her songs to soothe myself. His arm was the first touch I felt.” Star frowned, “Raven and her man saved me.”
“Yeah … and the bitch of it all.” William wallowed in his self-pity, “His … right? Yeah … he saved me too … the bastard.”
“How do you hold your breath?”
“Suck in air … and don’t let it out.’ William looked at his hands.
Star sucked a deep breath and held it. “Make sure you come back to the surface when you need too.” He looked at Star her face now changing shades of color as she held in the air, “Let is out.”
Star let it out, gasping again for air. Star smiled. “I feel funny.”
“You can only do it for a short time,” William explained, “When you have to breathe again … come to the surface. You almost passedout … if you hold it too long … you can pass out.”
“Will I live if I pass out?”
“Yeah, you just lose consciousness.”
Star inhaled and exhaled and stretched her arms, “I will have to try all the wonders I watched.”
“Like what?” William asked
“All the tingles she felt.” She closed her eyes titling her head up peacefully.
“What tingles?”
“When she was near … After the dance with Dryannan. He touched her and she had tingles and the pressing of lips. Oh how I wanted more of them.”
William asked, “Oh … you mean a kiss … who’s Drynnan?
Star smiled, “One who wanted her the night you turned her away. Yes a kiss, I liked the tingles. We wanted to feel more of it but she turned us away. But if it had been you …” Star smiled, “She would not have.”
“Why not?” William asked trying to take in what this dark elf spoke.
“Because she cares for you with great emotion but not like she does for him and he was still gone.”
William smiled wryly “Great to hear … she cares for me …”
“No one cares for us. We are alone. I am no long part of the we.” She sighed heavy, “And it is lonely. I understand this feeling. The emptiness.”
William responded, “Welcome to the world …”
“They left me to die.” Her eyes were distant.
William added, “It’s a lonely place …”
“Yes,” Star lifted her voice. Raven’s voice echoed in the rafters a nelvish sad song of warriors passing in a battlefield.
William closed his eyes, “Don’t do that … Please …”
Star sighed, “Do all men hate song?”
“I love song … but you sound like Raven …”
“He won’t let me sing either. I hold her songs. If I die so do they ’til the agreement is fulfilled,” Star looked at the man before her; “Either her greatness or I finish the circle. Then she receives them back. I guess you hate me.”
“How do you finish the circle?” he asked watching her scantly clad form rise, the cloth near transparent from the water.
“I must feel like you, naturally and I …”
He cut her off, “I don’t hate you …”
“You don’t?”
“You look too much like Raven … so its a little weird ..,” he said tearing his eyes from the sweet curves of her bosom.
“I am much different,” Star compared, “Her hair is the night sky, mine is the moon.”
William eyes traveled her; “You have the same face.”
“Her eyes are long lasting stone, mine are but a flicker of light.”
William eyes moved down, “The same … body …”
“She is what I was made from, in honor my form reflects the life she gives.” Star touched his cheek softly, “William I know you have no passion for me but can you kiss me.”
William swallowed hard, “And pretend you’re her?”
“No,” Star eyes dimmed to a mere speck of orange, “Just kiss … me.”
William frowned but the leaned closer. Their lips touch softly in warmth. Star pulled back.
William drew back asking, “Well?”
“Yes I like the tingles” she nodded
“Let’s try a real one.” William pulled her against his body, holding her tightly and kissing her again, this time with parted lips and probing tongue. Star called upon the memories that where allowed to be seen and responded in kind. Finding it easy to fill in the blanks as the tingles grow.
William pulled back, “Is that what you are looking for?”
“Mmmmm I like that,” Star eyes still closed relishing the tingles in her body.
A half grin touched him as he admitted, “Yeah … it was nice …” He withdrew his arms.
“She chased us from her when her passion grew.” Star opened her eyes, the flame bright in them, “May I have another.”
William asked, “What do you mean?”
“Another kiss like that.”
William debated, “You know it doesn’t mean anything …”
Star eyes burn brightly, “Yes.” Than she paused and asked, “What would it mean?”
“Love … caring …” he tensed.
Star sighed.
“What?” he asked.
“I don’t think I will ever have them like she does.” Star head sagged, “I will settle for the tingles.”
“Ya never know …” William fingered her chin up, “You might fall in love …”
“How can I, without the others?” Star looked in his eyes, “How can any one love a Star?”
William pushed her hair behind her ear, “You gotta forget about the others … you are you now … right?”
“Yes,” Star nodded, “and I have to finish the deal.”
William softly asked, “What do you have to do to finish the deal?”
“Become … human or for her find her greatness, which ever comes first.”
William eyes showed sadness, “Being human ain’t all it’s cracked up to be …”
“It is better than what we are.” Star near whispered, “Think of million minds formless and only of thought.”
“How are you gonna know you’re human?” he asked, “A big sign gonna pop up?”
“I will not be able to hold her gift any longer. Her songs will return to her.”
William shruged, “Oh …”
Star stared into his eyes, “Can I have another?”
“I guess … ” William took her in his arms again and slowly pressed his lips to hers, his tongue seeking hers.
Star put more into the kiss following what made the tingles grow. Her hand moved to his shoulder and her finger touched his neck. William moved his hands down her back and over her ass. Star pressed harder against him the tingles, growing nicely. He squeezed her ass. Star inhaled deeply never leaving his lips
Pushing her away, he frowned, “We better stop this …”
Stars smile faded at his frown.
“You’re too much like Raven … you feel like her …”
“Did I do it wrong?” Star looked confused.
“Nothing …” William stammered, “Just I’m getting a little horny … and …”
“I am not her.” Star apologized, ” I am sorry my form is wrong. I cannot change it.”
William shook his head, “Hey … I am only human …”
“What happens after the kisses?”
William looked away from her, “Usually … sex …”
“Tell me of sex so I know what to look for.” Star tilted herhead, “Her passion would close us out after a kiss. I have no reference to sex.”
William felt so very acquired, “It is where a man and a woman … do it …”
“Does it make the tingles grow?”
William nodded, “Yeah … I guess it does …”
“They are still are moving in me.” Star touched her body, “You give such nice tingles.”
William wiped at his brow, “Yeah … you had an effect too …”
“It tingles in such unusual places. Does the tingles happen with anyone? Or just for like Raven?” She paused than asked, “How do you do It? Is it easy or takes study. Raven’s mind referenced books.”
“Yeah … with anyone …” William stuttered, “and it is easy … and … natural.”
“Ummm.” Star moved forward, touching his lips with hers. Gentle soft and non-assuming.
“That tingle too?” he asked trying to fight his urges.
“Yes,” her voice was breathless.
“Where?” he asked
Star ran her hand to her chest, “I feel them here.” She touched his neck, “that makes them run my arm. Do you get tingles? When you did this “
“I won’t lie to you …Yeah … I get tingles …” William fought with himself not sure whether to let her go or not.
“I think I will like my form. I like the tingles.”
William chuckled, “First time you cum is gonna blow you away …”
Star asked, “What is that?”
William looked shocked, “An orgasm …”
“Ummm another thing we where not allow to see.”
William tried to explain, “Sorta like a huge tingle … or a bunch all at once …”
Star smiled into his eyes, “Can you orgasm?”
“Yeah … everybody can … I guess …”
“Can I watch you do it?” she requested.
His voice cracked, “Say what?”
“How else will I know if I have one?”
William swallowed hard, “You can have ’em by yourself … or with someone else to help … depends on what you like.”
“Can you help me? I would like more tingles.”
William laughed, “Is that an invitation?”
“I guess if you need one, it is.” She stared at him.
“Not like I’m ever gonna get a shot at Raven again …” William considered for a moment, “What do you know?
“Than you will?” The flame in her eyes licked brightly.
“Sure … why not … ” William grinned, “What did you see?”
“I know that we where allow to watch and a little of what she thought. Drynnan kissing her and running his hand over her living art.”
“Look … Star …” William fought with his heart, “If we do this … don’t talk about her.”
“Okay, I saw kisses and touches.”
“That’s it?” his voice lifted.
Star frowned, “We could not see anything else. I wanted to see more but it was not allowed. Will you still help me?”
“Well …” William eyed the scantly dress form, “You have to take off your clothes … or I can do it for you … What do you want to try first?”
“Everything.” Star admitted, “I don’t know my choices. So you will have to guide me in the quest for tingles.”
“Damn,” William mind spun as he moved real close “tell me what you like …” he stroked her cheek.
“I like that.” She smiled and countered the stroke to his cheek. “Do you?”
William leaned over, kissing her on the ear, sucking her earlobe.
Star gasped for breath, “Oh my!”
“Good one, huh?” he delighted in the sound of her pleasure.
“Yes,” she squeeked out.
William kissed her on the throat, she smiled as he asked, “Not as good, huh?”
“I like that too. Just the ear.” She moved against him drawing her lips to his ear, “It did not make you tingle?”
William leaned into her, his hand coming up to cup her breast.
“Mmmmmm tingles, I like.” She hummed
William moved back kissing the top of her ear as his hand moved down her tummy and between her legs.
The warehouse echoed in the, “OOOOOO” that she sang.
