BACKGROUND
Agnes Harkness is a handsome woman in her mid 40’s and the media darling of this world. She runs the sole radio and television broadcasting system on this planet. While the programming of the radio and television is almost all canned, she does do a report on any local news once a day on both radio and television. As most days are very slow news days, this does tend to be a bit soap opera gossipy. She does on occasion act as an actual investigative reporter, but most of her time is devoted to simply chatting with the locals about gossip, picking through the canned programming she has imported, and the day to day operation of her station.
She is on very friendly terms with most everyone save Madame De Gracie, who is the source for much of the scandal that Agnes reports on. Agnes’ station is one of the few commercial establishments in the town (along with Purdy Mcfew’s diner) that Madame De Gracie does not have a controlling interest in.
She grew up fairly rough and tumble and has risen to her station through competence and hard work. She is no gunfighter, but she knows it’s a hard world and is quite a bit more capable than most of taking care of herself. She is especially adept with a monster of a shotgun she keeps with her. She’ll stash it in her station while working, or hang it above her locked door at home. She doesn’t always walk around carrying that beast, but she will be seen carrying it to and fro her home and work.
