Although I should be fast asleep
Like a thief in the night in my mind you creep
Just the thought that you could die
Hurts so bad that I could cry
They say a man should not shed tears
But we’ve been through so much over the years
We’ve had good times and we’ve had bad
Together we’ve been happy and sometimes sad
But somehow our friendship weathered the storm
When life had been cold our friendship kept us warm
I wish I could be with you all the time
The fact that I live so far away is a crime
But there’s nothing I can do about that right now
But we see each other as much as time will allow
I’m just glad I could be here for the holiday
That we’ll have many more I can only pray
I just wanted you to know how much you mean to me
And I hope you’ve always been able to see
That I’ll be your friend come what may
Friends till the end that’s the way we’ll stay
