I think that you should just be my friend
Cause your actions I can no longer defend
I’ve got all the disadvantages of us being lovers
But no advantages not even under the covers
A steady boyfriend is something you don’t need
Cause on with your life you must proceed
You are wild and need to be free
You are a double of what I used to be
I told you before I don’t want to cage you
I couldn’t do it if I wanted to
All I wanted is to spend some time with you
Although I do love you, this much is true
I am so very versatile
But you don’t know this cause you’ve only known me for a short while
But if you ever take the time to learn about me
Before too long you will see
I can be anything you want me to be
But I don’t know how to cat cause you won’t tell me
I can be a friend and a lover if you want me to be
If you’d give me a chance to show you, you would see
All I know is I don’t like this kind of life
Cause this pain is worse than being cut with a knife
It’s time once again for this wild dog to run
Cause this relationship has been interesting but not always fun
I do like the time I spend with you
