The Clown

The Clown
by William A. Kennedy

I am a clown; I’ll make you laugh.
With many an antic, pratfall and gaffe,
My aching heart will beat in my chest,
But you’ll never know as I clown my best.

My skills as a comic will bring you glee
Jokes and laughter just watch and you’ll see,
You’ll never know that she tossed me away,
Of my tears and sorrow I keep each day.

Hear my wit, my clever repartee,
You never know what gems I might say,
I’ll sing and I’ll dance and I’ll make you smile,
I’ll hide my heartache with poise and with Style!!
