Father of a Teen (Between Ravens log 13 & 14, after Williams Cat Fight)
Linda shouted, “ARE YOU GUYS THROUGH YET.”
Ghost Archer smiled and pushed himself up. He grinned trotting off, “Raven… I think you forgot someone.” He entered the kitchen to see Linda petting Valoki and finishing up another plate
“Ready to get back to the warehouse, Linda?”
“Mind if I take a few sandwiches with me.” She looked up from her empty plate. “Think you can talk raven into a TV and video Game too?” Archer glanced at Marie and the baby. “I won’t mind a radio too.”
Archer smirked, “Do you think we could feed the bottomless pit here?” Archer jerked a thumb, indicating Linda.
Linda just chattered on, “It’s like the Stone Age there but peaceful.”
Archer squeezed in a word, “I’ll see about the radio for you.”
“KEWLNESS!”
Archer took Josho from Marie, much to her dismay. Archer comforted her; “I’ll let you visit, Marie, never fear.” Linda picked up Valoki.
Marie gathered her wits about her, “How many meals will you be needing?”
Linda spoke up, “How about like six sandwiches or so… with tons of meat and cheese.”
Archer smiled, “How about something more…substantial.” He opened the freezer and piled package after wrapped package into a canvas bag.
Linda looked at him, “Not like we got a fridge to keep food in.”
Archer stopped and looked at Linda, “No fridge?”
“Nope.”
“I hadn’t thought of that.” Archer pushed all the stuff back in the freezer
“Her people don’t use them.”
Marie spoke up; “I will make up a picnic lunch for twelve…is that enough?
“Yeah,” Linda sounded, “That would be great. When do you think Will be getting home?”
Archer kissed Marie on the cheek “Thanks, Marie.” He looked to the girl, “I think Will may not be back for a couple of days…Valoki packs a punch.”
“It’s going to be lonely there with out him.” She sighed heavily.
“We’ll get him back as soon as we can.” He reassured her. “Spock!” He bounced Josho up and down gently. “Three to Raven’s home.” Josho giggled happily with a sparkle in his eye.
“Beam me up Scotty!!” Linda added in with a chuckle. “That is an old show.”
Archer materialized in the warehouse with baby in arms and Linda wide eyed
“Kewlness! Be right back for the kid.” She turned to go up the ladder still carrying Valoki. Archer leaps up to the beams, landing lightly beside Linda
“Guess you can drop him in his bed. It over there.” She pointed clutching the dragon closer.
“Figured this was easier.”
Linda headed for her hut as Archer took Josho to the bed and laid him down. The young girl appeared behind him. “So archer.”
Archer glanced back at Linda, “Yes?”
“Do you lay all the women you meet?” She leaned against the wall. Archer covered the baby, his hand stroking the little head almost smiling. “Do you have to like take a number?”
Archer settled onto the sleeping mat, which covered the floor, beside the baby’s bed facing Linda. “No, I don’t lay every woman.”
“GREAT! No numbers.” She spoke as he settled and cursed his last comment, “Dam.”
Archer smiled, “Once I figure out my heart, Linda. I am very monogamous.”
Linda knelt in front of him, “Okay how about a roll with me than.”
Archer grin grew, “So, I will not be bedding anyone but Raven from now on.”
“Dam! Why do all the guys want her?” Archer watched Linda as she stood up straightening her mini skirt. “I am really tired of getting rejected.”
“You just haven’t found the right guy.”
Linda placed her finger to her lips; “Sure you two are an item now?”
“Yes. We are.”
“Not many guys come in here and Cat is all goo goo over Kara.” She swayed her hips back and forth. “Mystic is always with the kid and laughs at me. Will, well he will cuddle but not touch. Say sixteen is too young for him.” Her eyes sweep up his form, “Doesn’t leave much left.”
Archer estimation of William went up a notch. “Why are you in such a rush to get laid?”
“I haven’t had a piece since I joined up!” She let a small smile come to her lips as she slightly closed her eyes; “I miss it.”
Archer nodded. “I know that feeling.”
“Course my ex was a jerk.”
Archer focused on her face, “What happened to him?”
“Got me in all kind of trouble with my foster parents and I had to run. Not that my foster dad would care. As long as I put out for him.” She chattered as if it was a common subject for all to know. “But she was a Bitch.”
Archer narrowed his eyes. “What happened to your parents?”
“I was taken from them along time ago. Been in the system most my life.”
“Have you been in many foster homes?”
“Yeah!” She rolled her eyes and sat in front of him.
“Did you try to report your last foster dad?”
“Yeah, but like they believed me, worker wanted me in counseling for my lying.” She tucked her legs under herself; “It’s kewl here though.”
“How long where you with him?”
“Like three years. Longest of them all”
Archer offered, “You want a Coke or something?”
“Well actually I took a beer. It was hidden in the back of the fridge.”
Archer laughed, “That thing is like twelve years old. I think Sarge put it there.”
“You got a lot of food in there.” She smiled, “Should be tasty.”
“Marie loves to cook. You are going to get fat if you aren’t careful eating her food.” He leaned further back.
“Like I will be allowed out of here.”
“What can I do to help?” Archer asked as an evil grin swept across her face, “besides that. He warned with a grin.
“Dam, you a mind reader??”
Archer smiled. “Maybe.”
“If the cops find me they will take me back to fosters house. Raven don’t let me out.”
“Local cops looking for you?”
Linda nodded, “Will would bring me all the stuff I wanted though.”
“Tell me where to get it.” He offered.
“Will you bring me a six pack with that radio?” Ghost Archer sighed.
Linda shrugged, “Didn’t think so.”
“I can’t get you beer. Sorry. Are the cops looking for you as a runaway or for other reasons?”
“Yeah!”
Archer sat forward, “What do they want you for?”
Linda laid on her stomach looking up his body, “Like I said my ex got me in lots of trouble.”
“Want to tell me about it?”
Linda shrugged, “I guess. Not like I have anywhere to go.”
“Spock, get us an ice chest with assorted sodas.”
Linda rolled to her side crossing her legs, “Where do you want me to start.”
“Wherever you want…”
Linda evil grin took over her face and she giggled, she sat up leaning on her elbows, “Okay I meet Bug a few years back.” Archer opened the ice chest that appeared at his side and fished out a Diet Dr. Pepper. “I’ll take a Pepsi. ” She commented as she recalled, “He was like such a hunk.” Archer dug out a Pepsi handing it to her. “But at that time he thought me nothing more than a skinny kid.” Linda took a few gulps. “I was at the house with him back than. Well he got sent to boys Ville and I got transferred out to a new home.” Ghost Archer nodded. Linda Continued, “Well it was like a year ago I was skipping and low and behold there he was. Bug was bigger and strong and more of a hunk, like a hunk and half.”
Archer interrupted, “Where is he now?”
Linda shrugged, “Out there. I didn’t hang around to find him when all hell broke loose. I just booked.”
Ghost Archer nodded. “What happened?”
“Well me and him hooked up and he threatened my foster dad a few times. Even flattened him once. They put out an order on him but he still came around for me. The last night I saw him we where having kicks. Yeah, know just chillin. I never saw him ever do anything wrong to this point. I just thought it was all just a bad rap.” Archer nodded, watching her. “Well we went to get some stuff from the store. I got on camera, he didn’t.”
“Now you’re wanted?”
“Guess,” She picked up the tale, “The cops made it to my foster home before I did. Doesn’t help that I’ve e been in trouble before for shoplifting. The bitch locked me up in my room since it was so late and daddy dear decided to come play. That gave me the chance to book.” Archer frowned but Linda seemed unfazed, “Raven found me a few days later and I’ve been here ever since. Nice and safe and cozy.”
“What can I do to make your stay here better? And no beer or booze.”
Linda winked, “Got another you up your sleeve?”
Archer smiled, “You never know what Raven will find.”
“Yeah but your a rich dude.” Linda thought, “That Nick guy looked scary.”
“He can be.”
“I didn’t like the way Raven calls him Great one like he is above her.” Linda shivered, “Anyone she is scared of so am I.”
“It’s her way.”
“Nah!” She shook her head; “You don’t know her that well.”
“She calls me ‘lord’ even though I discourage it.”
“You haven’t heard her screams.”
“Screams?”
Linda smiled, “Oh yeah the title bit.”
“What screams? Nightmares or pain?”
“When she tries to sleep.” Linda shrugged, “Will held her many nights trying to calm her. So did Mystic. I don’t know which. Not much a different till a few days ago. She looks like she’s been sleeping.”
“She was drugged when she first got here. Date Rape drug. It was poisoning her. As for her sleeping.”
“Yeah I got my some hidden.”
“You have some?”
Linda nodded, “She got a little from you and poof sleep.” She looked at him like he was from Mars. “Sure. I have some.”
“Why?”
“Like they can hide anything from me.” She smiled, “Just curious about it.”
“They? Who… And what?”
“Like does it work on guys??” She knitted her brow, “Dam you are out of it! How much does she tell you? I thought you where like this god to her.”
“I think she has been handing a line of shit from William. She doesn’t know what is safe and legal.”
Linda shook her head; “She turns a quite a few bucks.”
“Well that’s going to stop.” he sounded off making Josho stir.
“Than how is she going to support us? This place is suppose to get a lot more in it.”
Archer spoke. “I am a rich dude.”
Linda shook her head in disbelief, “No one is that rich!”
Archer evened his tone, “I think I can handle it without breaking the law.”
“I like to play in the money.” Linda through herself flat on her back, raising invisible money to the air.
“Play?”
Linda laughed, “Not like I can go spend it.” Archer smiled. Linda eyes grew like saucers, “The trip to your place was the first I’ve been out.”
“Just a minute. Marie? How would you like to play grandmother for a few hours?
Linda laughed at him, “Unless she says you can’t take me. Raven has this security thing. If she doesn’t say yes you can’t go.”
Archer radioed, “Raven?”
Raven radioed back, “Yes my one and only.”
Archer radioed, “Where are you?”
Raven radioed, “Umm, in Settle now.”
Archer radioed, “The Mansion?”
Raven radioed, “I needed to get a few things done. No, I left you a note. Haven’t you arrived to receive it yet?”
Archer smiled as he radioed, “If I may take Josho to Marie, I would like to take Linda out shopping. I am at the Warehouse.”
Raven radioed, “I fear she can not be seen in public.”
Archer radioed, “I will be taking her to San Francisco, not Seattle.”
Raven radioed, “Please leave a note for Mystic on the where about of our son and than Yes, you may take them forth. Cufean, May the flame protect you both
Archer radioed, “We will be a few hours, I expect I will be on the radio, love.”
Raven radioed; “Enjoy thy self, my dream, my love.”
Linda pulled on his arm, “Ask her if I can grab some cash.”
“I have cash.” Archer smiled.
“Hope you’re loaded. I am hungry!”
Archer let out with a laugh.
“Think we can go to the beach? And roller blading and to the movies. NO! The mall first”
Archer reconsidered, “Then I think LA instead.”
“Kewlness, Lets go before Raven changes her mind.” Linda scrambled for the baby waking him up as she lifted him. Josho screams filled the forest.
Archer barked, “Careful!”
“HEY Valoki!” Linda screamed out the hut, “We are going on a trip. Want to come with us or the BABY!!?” Linda tapped her foot. “COME ON VAL I AIN’T got all day for an answer fly your ass here if you are coming! Guess not lets go! Let’s go.” Linda pulled on Archers arm to get him to stand.
Spock moved the three to the manor with Josho still screaming in Linda’s arm. Archer took the boy and tried to sooth him. Josho still tired and crabby and whined. His little fist made it to his mouth and he sucked on it. Marie moved to Archer’s side taking the child in her arms. Josho sucked away on his fist.
Archer shook his head; “He can’t be hungry again!”
Linda piped up, “Want make a bet!”
Marie spoke softly, “Do not worry, I have had some practice of late with babies and will be getting more practice in a few months.”
Linda started her list, “Think I can get some makeup and nail polish.”
Archer grinned, “Thanks, Marie.” He kissed the woman on the cheek, “Call me if you need anything.”
“I saw these shoes raven has! God I want a pair like them!”
Archer offered an arm to Linda. “Let’s go shopping.”
Linda looked funny at Archer, “What’s the arm for?”
Archer sighed and muttered “Kids.”
Linda made a face, “Guess I could take your hand.”
Archer offered a hand instead. She slipped her cold fingers into his warm hand.
“Sunset Blvd. Spock.”
Store after store the girl went in and out. Ice cream cones and hot pretzels and other assorted goodies to eat flowed. She skated from the Bathing suit shop with her roller blades and new string bikini. Archer sat next to the tower of packages.
“Come on Archer lets skate.” Linda bladed down the walk. She bumps into a beach bum looking guy. She obviously flirted with the guy. Archer stood on looking. His face was grim, as his inner laugh’s tried to escape. Linda kissed the guys cheek and he patted her ass as she skated back to Archer. Archer smiled at Linda.
Linda smiled so sweetly, “Mind if I dump you for an hour?”
“Yes, I do mind.” He looked down at her sternly.
“Come on, let a girl have a little fun.” Linda grabbed his waist to skate side to side near him.
“No way I am going to let you “wander off” with the suntan set.”
“Gee you’re an old fart.” She let go and looked to the guy still waiting for her.
Archer leaned closer to Linda “I am 201 years old”
“Yeah you are an old Fart.” She sighed heavily, “Like you can really be that old.” Ghost Archer grinned. Linda pleaded, “Come on I just want to go for a soda with him.”
“A soda and a quickie?”
“Dam,’ Linda cursed, “Stop reading my mind.”
Ghost Archer chuckled. “I don’t have to, it’s written on your chest.”
Linda tried another approach, “Can we take him back with us??”
“That’s up to Raven, not me.”
Linda batted her eyes; “You can get her to.”
“No, I will not interfere with her mission. I can ask. I will not tell.”
“Maaan.” Linda whined, “Okay ask realllllly nice.”
“With sugar on it?” He asked.
“Yeah and a cherry if you find one.” She suggested.
Ghost Archer smiled, “I don’t think you’ll have long to wait, Raven is looking even now.”
“But he’s a hunk and a touch of rebel.” Linda eyed the guy who was now getting bored waiting. “She will probably bring noble honorable asses in. Come on give me an hour.”
“I think he will have to take his chances with the reason of humanity.” Archer shook his head. “I can’t do that…sorry…guess I am an old fart.”
Linda sighed, “Well at least I tried. Didn’t think you would say yes.”
“Had to try though.” He confirmed.
“You bet!”
Archer grinned, “It never hurts to ask.”
“Want to hit the surf?”
Ghost Archer looked out at the surf. “Waves are pretty light today but why not?”
Linda pulled off her blades. “Ooh look at the life guard I might feel like drowning for him.” Ghost Archer laughed. Linda poked him, “What??”
“Raven better find you someone soon Or YOUR blood is going to boil.” He stifled his laughter.
“She thinks I should wait till I am mature.” Linda rolled her eyes, “Like I ain’t! I probably have had more men than her!”
Ghost Archer busted out laughing, “I’ll bet you are right!’ he hold his side to keep it from splitting.
“WHAAAT!” Linda shook her head, wide eyed; “You are one strange dude.” Linda ran into the water and dived in. Archer followed the girl into the cold Malibu water.
Somewhere through space and time …
The vision faded again. The old dragon looked down to her. “Was that enough for you?”
Rav smiled, “You know it will never be enough for me but yes great one it will do me for now.”
He cradled her closer; “You really should keep your strength little one. What is it do you look for in him?”
“I look for what she sees. I would not have picked him for her.” Rav closed her eyes.
“Yes, I know. But all can not be Josho.”
Rav eyes opened wide, “I did not mean to apply that. I could not … I mean I would … I mean …”
“Don’t worry so! I know your heart and it is fine and your daughter is fine and she will grow to greatness.” Coz shifted her weight in his arm. Rav drifted to sleep. He looked down at her; “She will be the equal to her mother.”
