By Jack Carter
Hello, it’s just me again.
Thinking about you as forever it seems I’ve been.
Dreaming about the way my life should be.
Dreaming about you giving all your love to me.
Then I wake up and reality sinks in.
I look around, I’m alone again.
You lift me with a beautiful memory,
of how wonderful life can really be.
I’ll never forget as long as I live,
the love you made me want to give.
You always made me smile, instead of frown.
I always felt up. I never felt down.
Now my life has really changed.
My priorities have all be rearranged.
Sometimes i wonder if I’m still me,
cause I’m nothing like I used to be.
I feel better about this new me,
than I ever felt about the person I used to be.
For this change I must thank you,
cause on my own this is something I wouldn’t do.
Now this poem is near it’s end.
Someday you’ll be mine. I won’t have to pretend,
but until that happens I’ll just have to wait.
When I get the chance I won’t hesitate.
