What Choice?

What Choice?

“Coz, Is this really needed?” Rav questioned the great one.

The Great Dragon looked down at Rav, “Yes, I am afraid there is no other way. “

“When will you send her.” Rav looked at the images playing before her.

“When she lives the Sky City. I can misdirect her path from the road. “

Rav watched her daughter singing unto the sunrise high up in the Sky City. Rav whispered, “Sing my child sing.” Rav sighed, ” Let me have our son.”

Coz brought his other hand close, to the arm that held her near his massive form. “You really should not get attached to the boy. They will come for him one day. Though by all rights he is mine. We could keep him for you.” Gently he placed Gene onto Rav’s blanket.

Rav cradled the boy in her arms and hummed a fiery tune, pausing to ask, “Will she ever be the same after she goes to the star?”

“All things change you, little one. Even you have forever changed, from the moment the elven form took you in. I have cherished this time of speech with you but her time is growing short and your time to return is nearing.” The Dragon looked down at the fragile figure she held. “Raven will not return to the green if she does not travel to the star. If she does not go to the green the people of the fireoak will die. Tell me which you would have me do? Keep her the way she is or send her?”

Rav was silent. She looked into the little green eyes. “He has his mothers eyes.”

“She would say his fathers.”

“No, I have peered in the images her whole life I know the spark in them.” Rav drew the Boy to her breast, ” Send her. ” Rav looked into images playing.

Raven stood and watched the sun, smiling as Sorcha came to her. “Raven are you ready for the room?”

“Yes Sorcha.” Raven turned to her friend, her eyes full of spark. “I am ready to play.”Raven took her hand. “What have you got planned for me today?”

Sorcha smiled, “Today you will be rid of the rest of your pain. He will be just the dream he was.” They stood on a floating disk and moved off the balcony and away through the sky.
